Sales Policy And Process
How The Process Of Getting a French Lop Works?
How To Get On The Paid Waiting List
Email hello@theoakhillfarm.com or DM the rabbitry facebook page.
The investment is $75 to get on the waiting list which will be counted towards the total price of the rabbit you choose.
Make sure to read the process below.
Please Note About Timing & Availability
While I do my best to plan pairings and produce litters in a timely manner, rabbit breeding doesn’t always follow a perfect schedule. Some litters are unsuccessful, and certain colors or traits—especially less common ones—can take longer to show up.
Because of this, I can’t guarantee exact timelines. Your deposit holds your place in line, not a specific rabbit or color.
That said, I will continue working to produce healthy, quality rabbits and will offer you the best available options as they become available. If you choose to pass, that is totally fine and up to you. Thanks for your patience and understanding.
Sales/Deposit Process
From Deposit To Pickup Day (Getting ON The Waitlist Or Specific Rabbit)
NOTE: Communication will be kept through the same messaging platform you reach out to me on, so we can keep all of our conversations in the same place.– Example: If you first message me through Facebook I will keep messaging you through there unless something happens. Same with email if that is your preferred communication method.
The Oak Hill Farm – Rabbit Sales Policy
By purchasing a rabbit from us, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms:
Reserving a Rabbit
- Rabbits are sold on a first come, first served basis. Your spot on the waitlist is secured with a $75 non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due at pickup or before transport.
- If you miss your scheduled pickup or fail to communicate in a timely manner, your deposit will be forfeited and the rabbit will be offered to the next person on the list.
- I will not hold a rabbit without a deposit.
Health + Quality Guarantee
- We raise healthy, calm, and structurally sound French Lops that meet ARBA breed standards.
- All rabbits come with a pedigree unless they have a genetic disqualification and should not be bred.
- Every rabbit is examined before leaving. You (or your transporter) are responsible for inspecting the rabbit upon pickup or delivery. Once the rabbit leaves our care, it is the full responsibility of the buyer.
Payments + Refunds
- We accept deposits via Venmo, PayPal (It is preferred that you send it as friends and family to avoid processing fees), or cash.
- Deposits are non-refundable unless we cancel the sale (e.g., due to a health concern or other issue on our end).
- We are not responsible for transportation fees or refunds due to changes in transport plans.
Transport + Pickup
- Local pickup is required. We are located in Southwest Ohio.
- We work with transporters at the buyer’s request. All arrangements and payment for transport are the buyer’s responsibility.
- Once a rabbit is handed off to a transporter, we are no longer responsible for delays, illness, injury, or death during transit.
- A rabbit will be sent with enough feed for the trip with the transporter to last the length of the trip that we are told. Plus 3-5 days worth of feed once it reaches the buyer.
No Guarantees After Sale
- We do not guarantee breeding success, litter survival, maternal behavior, or show placement.
- Rabbits sold as “show potential” are free from known disqualifications at the time of sale, but we cannot control how a judge’s thoughts or opinion on show day.
- We do not cover any veterinary costs incurred after the rabbit has left our care.
General Standards
We breed French Lops with show-standard quality in mind. Every rabbit sold is healthy to the best of our knowledge at the time of sale.
We do not breed for “pet” traits but recognize that many homes are looking for calm, well-handled rabbits for companionship. We will help match the right rabbit to the right purpose whenever possible.
Sales Structure
We now operate on a tiered release system:
First Release Rabbits – Can be chosen as early as 5 weeks old and leave the farm at 8-10 weeks.
What this means: This does not mean there is anything wrong with them, it just means that they are not as likely to do as well on the show table. You will get a pedigree and ID number tattooed so if you choose to show them or start your own herd you are able to.
Second Release Rabbits – They will likely be released around 12-16 weeks old.
What this means: These rabbits have made it past the second round but I do not plan to hold on to them to see how they grow out. They are very nice animals that show promise but don’t serve my goals in the rabbitry plan for growth and improvement on structure. They will come with a pedigree and ID number tattooed.
Third Release Rabbits | They will likely be released around 4-6 months old.
What this means: These are really amazing animals and I would have loved to keep them but not everyone can stay. They will have a pedigree and tattooed ID number.
Pricing
- First release rabbits: $150 and up
- Show or brood prospects: $200–$300+, depending on age and evaluation
Prices are subject to change without notice and are based on quality, development, and demand.
Pedigrees
All show and brood rabbits are sold with a pedigree unless otherwise stated.

Got Questions
Do you take rabbits to re-home?
- Sorry no. — If you are looking to re-home a rabbit you got from us I will help connect you to someone who might be interested but I do not have the space to take back a rabbit.
Do you work with transportation?
- I do work with animal transport but they must come to my home to pick up the rabbit. I can not meet a transporter on a Sunday due to them possibly being delayed. We are in church Sunday morning and evening so it’s too difficult to get them to meet in such a short window of time.
Do you meet buyers half way?
Sorry no, I do not meet buyers. You must pick up or arrange for transportation or pick up the rabbit yourself.
